About Islamabad Police
Presidential Orders No. 17 & 18 of 1980 established the Islamabad Capital Territory Police on 1st January 1981. With the creation of the ICT Police, the federal capital Islamabad will be provided with a separate Police organization that will serve to ensure law and order, protect life and property, and prevent civil unrest. Its primary purpose is to preserve public safety and maintain peace through the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws and respond to emergencies, and provide assistance during crisis situations.
